The fourth and final COVID-19 Equity Evidence Academy took place Sept. 27 - 28, 2023.

The agenda highlighted speakers and sessions focused on building community-academic connections; enhancing knowledge of promising approaches and lessons learned in engaging communities in COVID-19 testing and vaccines; and collaborating with RADx-UP project team members and other partners to identify strategies for translating lessons learned and promising approaches into sustainable practices and policies.

Debra Fraser-Howze and Dr. David Chambers gave the opening and closing keynote addresses. As nationally recognized experts in COVID-19 research, they shared their thoughts on the role community engagement and implementation research, as well as ways for projects to make their impact in the community last.

Advancing Community-Academic Partnerships (ACAP) Presentation Series

The ACAP Presentation Series occurred on Day 1 of the fourth RADx-UP Equity Evidence Academy and included four oral presentations and five poster presentations from RADx-UP community-academic project teams. The series aimed to share strategies for developing and maintaining equitable community-academic research partnerships to promote community engagement in research.

EA4 Consensus Building Workshop

During Day 2, participants engaged in an interactive Consensus Building Workshop, a facilitated group exercise designed to reach a shared agreement on a complex question. Participants generated ideas regarding community engagement strategies learned through RADx-UP to advance health equity research and practice. Report-outs from the workshop are listed below.
